OUR BEGINING
Carae's Lowcountry Modeling Guild has been established as a point of origin for aspiring models and for those who would like to improve in image presentation and learn self-motivation and goal-setting. We especially want to be a service to the community, helping to channel the energies of our youth in a positive direction. This organization was established by Carrie B. Major under the name of the Lowcountry Modeling Guild in September 1985. Our debut was December 21, 1985, and was presented to the public as "THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS, 1985” a fashion play. Our first commentator for this presentation was Mr. Arthur Fennell, Anchorman for WSAV-TV, Savannah, GA. We were received well by the general public and our fashion play was a success! This event was coordinated by Scott Gibbs, Vice-President and Business Manager. We worked with 25 of the area's most talented models. The name Carae's was added to the organization after the presentation because of the founder's first name. The organization is now Carae's Lowcountry Modeling. The officers then were Carrie B. Major Founder/President, Scott A. Gibbs Vice-President/Business Manager/Fashion Presentation Coordinator, Barbara Holmes Secretary, Isiah Smalls Treasurer, and Gwendolyn Goodwine Historian.
